Before President Trump is sworn in, Republicans must elect new leadership in the Senate. On Wednesday, the Senate GOP conference held leadership elections for the next Senate Majority Leader. I've been very clear since March: I believe that U.S. Senator John Thune (R-SD) is best fit to lead our conference to pass President Trump's agenda. Luckily, the majority of our conference felt the same way. Following Thune’s victory, President Trump posted on Truth Social that Sen. Thune “will do an outstanding job.”

The mandate from the American people is clear, and I will do everything in my power to help the House, Senate, and White House deliver.

Diabetes affects over 38 million Americans. In Oklahoma alone, that number is over 390,000. That's why I joined Senate Diabetes Caucus co-chairs Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) on a bipartisan letter to Senate leadership emphasizing the importance of the Special Diabetes Program (SDP). As your Senator, I’ll always be in the fight to improve health care outcomes for families across the nation.

Oklahomans know that a large part of my mission in Washington is fighting government overreach. That being said, I joined U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) on a bipartisan, bicameral amicus brief against the Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) rule requiring state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on the highway system and set declining targets. The effects of this burdensome federal overreach would be detrimental to state businesses and must be fought tooth and nail.

On Wednesday, the Senate passed by Unanimous Consent the naming of the James Mountain Inhofe Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Senator Inhofe truly lived up to his middle name. He did so much for Oklahoma and our veterans, and his legacy will never be forgotten. I'm happy to honor him with the naming of this center.

After Donald Trump's incredible victory, his process of announcing his cabinet is underway. I joined Fox Business's Maria Bartiromo to discuss how the Senate will see to his nominations being confirmed. In addition to that, we broke down Senator Thune's victory as our next Senate Majority Leader and how he will work with the president to carry out the Trump mandate for the nation. Watch the full interview here.
