Before President Trump is sworn in, Republicans must elect new leadership in the Senate. On Wednesday, the Senate GOP conference held leadership elections for the next Senate Majority Leader. I've been very clear since March: I believe that U.S. Senator John Thune (R-SD) is best fit to lead our conference to pass President Trump's agenda. Luckily, the majority of our conference felt the same way. Following Thune’s victory, President Trump posted on Truth Social that Sen. Thune “will do an outstanding job.”
The mandate from the American people is clear, and I will do everything in my power to help the House, Senate, and White House deliver.

Oklahomans know that a large part of my mission in Washington is fighting government overreach. That being said, I joined U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) on a bipartisan, bicameral amicus brief against the Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) rule requiring state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on the highway system and set declining targets. The effects of this burdensome federal overreach would be detrimental to state businesses and must be fought tooth and nail.
