John,
Trump’s tax cuts, mostly for the rich and corporations, cost the country trillions. And now Republicans are at it again as they push to renew these giveaways which would cost another $5 trillion.[1] Once they blow up the deficit even further, they’ll claim Social Security, Medicare, and other key programs are “too expensive” to sustain.
The billionaire assault on our social safety net has reached a dangerous new phase as Donald Trump has announced that he’s appointing Elon Musk to co-chair a so-called “Department of Government Efficiency”. (A better name would be the “Department of Billionaire Larceny.”) Musk has already called for slashing an astronomical $2 trillion from the federal budget, admitting this will cause "temporary hardship" for American families.[2]
But make no mistake, billionaires like Musk won't be the ones facing hardship. Every dollar handed to a billionaire or a corporate CEO in tax cuts is one less dollar for Social Security and Medicare.
We need your help to fight back against this unprecedented assault on our earned benefits. Will you donate today to help us protect Social Security and Medicare from Trump, Musk, and their billionaire allies?
No one voted in the recent election for cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Yet that’s exactly what’s at stake if Trump and his billionaire backers succeed in gutting federal funding while protecting massive tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans.
The GOP’s plan is clear: hand out tax cuts to the ultra-rich, blow up the deficit, then target Social Security and Medicare to make up the difference.
This is a direct threat to the retirement security of every American. For tens of millions, Social Security and Medicare are lifelines that provide stability, dignity, and a foundation after years of hard work. Slashing these programs would leave countless seniors and other vulnerable Americans without the support they’ve earned over decades. This is a betrayal of the promises made to working families across this country.
We need your grassroots support to expose and fight back against this billionaire-backed assault on our earned benefits. Your voice, your activism, and your contributions are what power our movement to protect Social Security and Medicare from being sacrificed to line the pockets of the wealthy.

[2] Elon Musk Sees Trump’s Economic Plans Causing ‘Temporary Hardship’
-- David's email --
John,
Next year, Republicans in Congress will double down on their disastrous Trump tax scam, trying to hand out another $5 trillion in tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthiest Americans and big corporations.[1]
It’s clear who wins here: billionaires like Elon Musk and corporate giants who rake in profits while paying little or nothing in taxes.
Elon Musk has even publicly suggested cutting $2 trillion from the federal budget[2] and told the American people to brace for “hardship.”[3] But you can bet he isn’t suggesting that the ultra-wealthy give up their precious tax breaks. And now, Trump has tapped Musk and fellow billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy to head up the so-called “Department of Government Efficiency”. A better name would be the “Department of Billionaire Larceny.”
Here’s the GOP’s plan: give away trillions to their billionaire donors, create ever bigger deficits, then turn around and claim they need to “balance the budget.” How do they intend to achieve that balance? By slashing Social Security, Medicare, and other vital programs that tens of millions of Americans depend on to survive.
No one voted in the recent election to cut Social Security and Medicare, yet the GOP seems eager to make these cuts in their cynical quest for lower debt. We’re fighting back to defend Social Security, Medicare, and other critical programs, and instead make billionaires like Musk and big corporations pay to balance the budget by finally paying a fair share of taxes. But to win this fight, we need your help.
Donate today to fight back against Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” that would cut critical programs and services, including our hard-earned Social Security and Medicare benefits, just to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires like Musk.
Social Security and Medicare are the foundation of working-family economic security. But if billionaires get their way, these essential programs will be slashed to protect corporate profits and tax giveaways.
This isn’t about balancing the budget, it’s a political scheme that puts Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block to bankroll more breaks for the wealthy. Billionaires and corporations walk away with billions in handouts while working families and retirees are expected to sacrifice. We cannot allow them to hollow out Social Security and Medicare, leaving the millions who rely on these programs to fend for themselves.
Before Social Security, 78% of seniors lived in poverty.[4] Today, that has been reduced to roughly 10%―still too high, but a critical improvement from nearly a century ago.[5]
Imagine what these cuts would mean: seniors struggling without the support from programs they’ve paid into their whole lives, families left vulnerable, and retirees forced back into the workforce just to make ends meet. All so Musk, Trump, and their billionaire buddies can get even more tax cuts.
This attack on Social Security and Medicare is an attack on the lives and dignity of tens of millions of Americans. That’s why we’re standing up and fighting back―and why we need your help to make sure we have the resources to hold Congress accountable.
Rush a donation to fight back against Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” which is nothing more than an attack on Social Security and Medicare to pay for more tax cuts for the rich.
