Donald Trump’s vow to “stop the wars” is already crumbling.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his far-right government were THRILLED with Trump’s win, believing that he’ll allow them to keep their immoral, deadly wars going until “total victory.”
And now Trump is quickly stacking his cabinet full of neocons like Mike Waltz, the former counterterrorism adviser to VP Dick Cheney, for national security advisor and Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
The MAGA base is already up in arms about these hawkish appointments…but the reality is no one knows exactly what Trump will do. That’s why it’s so important that Congress send a clear message to Netanyahu that the U.S. will not sign a blank check to the Israeli government.
Now we FINALLY have a way to do it. Bernie has introduced a resolution to halt $20 billion of U.S. weapons sales to Israel — and the vote is just DAYS away. It will be the first ever vote in Congressional history to directly block an arms sale to Israel.
We need to show massive public support for Bernie’s resolution to make it clear to Congress that it must force Netanyahu to stop the slaughter. Will you stand with Bernie?
In his last term, Trump supported the expansion of settlements and turned his back on a two state solution. So it’s no surprise that Netanyahu and his cabinet were overjoyed with his victory. And now come the deadly consequences.
This week, Israel ramped up its assault on Gaza and Lebanon, and Israel’s Finance Minister began preparing for the annexation of the occupied West Bank – expecting the incoming Trump administration will let them get away with it.
Trump’s reported pick for Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has expressed unhindered support for Israel’s war in Gaza — rejecting a ceasefire and saying “I think Hamas is 100 percent to blame” when asked about the horrific number of civilian deaths.
