Hello John,
We are not without power, and we need to remember that as the headlines continue to pour in. The truth of the matter is, yes, the Republicans will control all three branches of government, but they still must serve the American people. Trump, in particular, is very sensitive to public opinion and public pressure; he's a narcissist with several complex social disorders.
We have to use that to our advantage, and we have a plan to do just that. Organizations like ours work year-round for a reason—campaigns come and go, but our country moves forward, and so do we. We adapt and do our best to fulfill our mission, and right now, we find ourselves in full restructuring mode. Expect some big announcements from us in the weeks to come. In the meantime, we are focused on creating content to share with the American public about the radical trajectory the Republicans are embarking on and how it does not align with our collective American values.
We will be highlighting radical right-wing Christian nationalists who are set to appoint one of their own as the new Secretary of Defense. We will be laser-focused on showcasing the missteps of the Trump cabinet, and there is plenty to choose from.
Matt Gaetz is not a serious person; he was a frat boy masquerading as a Congressman, a position his wealthy father bought for him to keep him out of trouble. Matt Gaetz epitomizes white privilege, and his nomination as Attorney General has Republicans furious. By Republicans, I am not referring to those in Congress but Republican voters who value law and order. We live in a vast country, and with that comes significant challenges related to crime.
Now, a suspected sexual deviant is in charge of our nation's criminal justice system. The world is laughing at us, and that is not something Americans take lightly. Our job now is to highlight all of this. The more Trump goes off the rails, the more we document and share.
What we absolutely must not do is follow the lead of some of the loudest voices on social media and yell, "Haha, I told you so." I am seeing a lot of this, and it nauseates me. You do not talk to people this way—this is not how you win anyone over. Yes, it gets clicks, but as we have learned, it does not get votes. I know everyone is feeling down, but now is the time to unify and get to work. We all have a role to play. Our country deserves it. Our children deserve it, and that is what keeps us going.
As always, in solidarity,
Hassan
