As we process the results of the US presidential election, one thing is certain: the call for action on climate change has never been more urgent. In this week’s Climate Justice newsletter, we offer you pieces on what’s next and hear from voices on the ground in vulnerable communities. First, how nonprofit leaders and those in the field can push back against the coming policy changes that threaten our climate: it starts by realizing we’re not alone in the fight. Next, among the many false narratives upheld by White supremacy is the idea that people of color do not engage with the environment. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Then, in Southeast Asia, being queer has always meant more challenges, but LGBTQIA+ climate activists face increased dangers and exclusion from essential conversations. Finally, young people inheriting the climate crisis must also defend their right to learn about climate change in school.
