1) A Tale of Two Headlines: Then and Now

This from Politico 16 years ago:

President-elect Barack Obama is strongly considering Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Environmental Protection Agency, a Cabinet post, Democratic officials told Politico…

The selection of Kennedy would be a shrewd early move for the new presidential team. Obama advisers said the nomination would please both Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.).

Then this from NBC yesterday:

Many Democrats immediately condemned Kennedy's selection, characterizing it as "dangerous" and "disturbing."

"Mr. Kennedy’s outlandish views on basic scientific facts are disturbing and should worry all parents who expect schools and other public spaces to be safe for their children," said Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., in a statement.

Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., said in a post to X that Kennedy was “Dangerous. Unqualified. Unserious."

2) The Climate Change Agenda Is Collapsing

Well, that didn't take long.

Just one week after the Trump victory, our friend Marc Morano of Climate Depot reports that Argentina is pulling out of this week's big climate conference.

These climate shindigs soon will only be attended by self-righteous Europeans who - as we showed in Tuesday's HOTLINE, are busy making their nations poorer as they genuflect in front of the climate change altar.

3) Chicago City Council Unanimously Rejects Mayor Johnson's Property Tax Hike

While we’re on the topic of agendas that are collapsing, get a load of this 50-to-0 shellacking of the mayor’s property tax hike.

The Chicago Tribune reported:

The property hike proved wildly unpopular with constituents, aldermen have said. But its demise forces the council and mayor to now come up with new answers... "The only way you are going to make real structural reform here is by making some deep cuts," downtown Ald. Brendan Reilly, 42nd, said after the vote.

4) Pennsylvania Election Board Tries To Steal a Senate Seat in Broad Daylight

News organizations have called the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania for Republican David McCormick.  But his 26,000 vote lead over Senator Bob Casey is small enough there will be a statewide recount that must end by November 26.

Blue counties may have more lax standards than Red counties. Shocking, right?

McCormick lawyers are challenging provisional and mail-in ballots that are undated. But there is an effort to slip them into the final count in Blue counties. Yesterday, the Bucks County Board of Elections voted 2-1 along party lines to accept 406 such mail-in ballots.

"I can't vote to reject them," Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia said, even though a state court had blocked their inclusion pending a final ruling.

"Precedent by a court doesn't matter anymore in this country. And people violate laws anytime they want. For me, if I violate this law, it's because I want a court to pay attention to it."

We've rarely heard such a blatant disregard for the Rule of Law uttered with a straight face.

Marc Elias, a former lawyer for Hillary Clinton who "helped to steal a Senate seat in Minnesota for Al Franken in 2008 by finding a judge to count previously rejected ballots and overturn the lead of Republican Norm Coleman." Elias is counting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, controlled by leftist activist appointees, to allow shenanigans at the county level.

The liberal media insist election fraud doesn't exist. Let's see if they will pay attention now that it is being committed in broad daylight in a key U.S. Senate race.

5) Why the Left Hate Voter ID in One Photo

Speaking of stealing elections, our election expert, John Fund, has been arguing on these pages for many months that voter ID was necessary and proper to minimize voter fraud.

Liberals in Congress and blue states resisted and called these measures racist even though nearly three of four minorities support voter ID laws.

Thanks to Elon Musk for explaining why:
