**THE FORUM DAILY**Our "Leading the Way" convening of national security, law enforcement, faith and business leaders this week was on point.

Nearly 300 attendees from at least 24 states and D.C. heard experts speak about challenges and solutions regarding competitiveness, the border, the post-election outlook, and state-level immigration policy developments. Then, in more than 50 meetings with congressional offices, many attendees advocated for balanced solutions.

"You can’t be America First by putting immigration last," economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin of the American Action Forum said during the competitiveness panel, as reported by Marty Schladen of the Ohio Capital Journal [link removed] [who moderated a later panel].

The Forum also honored Reps. Tom Suozzi (D-New York) and Morgan Luttrell (R-Texas) for their ongoing work on bipartisan immigration reforms. Ellen M. Gilmer of Bloomberg Government [link removed] has more on their efforts. Last but not least, Rebecca Santana of the Associated Press [link removed] reports on the keynote speech by Elaine Duke, former Acting Secretary of Homeland Security during the first Trump administration.

Journalists: Recordings of the panel conversations will be available soon, and speakers and a subset of attendees are available for interview. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Today we bring you an abbreviated Friday edition of The Forum Daily. We will be back to a full edition on Monday. As always, if you have a story to share from your own community, please send it to me at [email protected] mailto:[email protected]. And thanks as always to the incredibly hardworking Forum Daily team: Jillian Clark, Soledad Gassó Parker, Camilla Luong, Ally Villarreal and Clara Villatoro.
