Bend the arc
Collage of Jews and allies taking action
together in this election

Friend,

As Shabbat’s holy rest approaches, I wanted to share some light with you and our courageous movement.

I look at the photographs from our election work this year and think: we showed up as Jews and allies with a clear moral voice to fight for our futures. We overcame attempts at division and despair to talk to our neighbors and strengthen our democracy. Kol hakavod (congratulations) to us.

Here are a few numbers you should know about how we showed up:

Numbers and icons showing how our movement
showed up in this election

We elected historically diverse candidates who share our values and will help keep our communities safe:

Arizona graphic with text that reads "We
helped elect Ruben Gallego, the first Latinx senator from AZ,"
and Maryland graphic with text that reads "Angela Alsobrooks' win
makes it a first in U.S. history that two Black women are senators at
the same time."
Delaware graphic with text that reads "Sarah
McBride is the first openly transgender person elected to Congress."
and New Jersey graphic that reads "Andy Kim is the first
Korean-American Senator."

These historic milestones are part of the work we’re doing together to build Olam Haba, the world to come.

I know that many of us are facing this next chapter with sadness and fear about what we expect to unfold. As we shared earlier this week, our work is already under attack — with bills like HR9495 threatening the existence of our social justice organizations.

Remaining courageous, pooling our resources, recognizing our wins (both big and small), and taking action together will continue to be critical in the days to come.

We know how to take care of ourselves and our neighbors; our ancestors showed us again and again. As Shabbat arrives and we wish peace and light to each other, we’re doing it right now.

Shabbat Shalom from all of us at Bend the Arc.

Power our movement for the urgent work ahead

At Bend the Arc, we are clear-eyed about the threats that we and our neighbors will face in a second Trump administration. We’ve spent months preparing for this possibility. Now we need you with us in the fight to protect our families, freedoms, and futures.
