Dear John,

Freyja turkey is a bit shy. She’s more into having heart-to-hearts with her dearest friends than flocking to big parties.

Do you relate to Freyja, or are you an extrovert? Find out who’s your turkey soulmate in our quick quiz!

Whichever turkey is most like you, we think we can all agree that Freyja is a sweetheart. Will you adopt her today to support her care at Farm Sanctuary?

Here’s more about our feathered friend, Freyja:

Freyja turkey and her flock were raised on a farm where they were considered companions. When their guardian passed away, his wife kept his promise to keep the animals safe—and while she couldn’t care for them, she made sure they came to us at Farm Sanctuary.

So, it was acts of love that brought Freyja to us, and she has since found more love in a tight-knit trio with Brunnhilde and Roberto turkeys. They like to forage together quietly or lounge in the barn they have all to themselves. Don’t call this introverted bird “anti-social;” she just enjoys her own company and the company of her dearest friends.

Freyja’s nervous around humans, but sanctuary gives her the space to be herself—and sometimes, she likes to come close enough to accept a berry or a gentle scratch from us.

ADOPT FREYJA

Will you be a friend to sweet Freyja? Your one-time gift will sponsor her ongoing, individualized care and help us to advocate for others like her.

To show our appreciation, we’ll send you an adoption certificate—your choice of digital or print—featuring a photo of Freyja and her inspiring story.

Each Thanksgiving season since 1986, Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt a Turkey Project has inspired kindhearted people like you to adopt a turkey rather than eat one.

Thank you for considering a compassionate holiday.
