Dear John,
Today is National Philanthropy Day, a day where we celebrate the power of giving and the impact of creating positive change and inclusion in our Minnesotan communities. In a time where immigrants and refugees are facing numerous unknowns, it’s more important than ever to reaffirm our support for our immigrant and refugee neighbors.
Threats of mass deportations and uncertainties about the future of programs like Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) have created a lot of anxiety and fear within immigrant communities. We are standing ready to help navigate what could be a tumultuous four years.
Philanthropy is an act or gift done for the greater good. At the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM), we recognize that it will take all of us, contributing in our own ways, to push back on anti-immigrant policies and continue our work to champion the rights and dignity of our clients. Your support helps ILCM as we mobilize in response to the threats ahead. There are many ways for you to support ILCM and make a difference today: - Forward Give to the Max emails along to family and friends. Even if you can’t donate, spreading the message helps build support for our immigrant and refugee neighbors.
- Remind your family and friends to give. A simple text, phone call, or mention to a loved one during a walk can be a powerful motivator!
-
Share our Give to the Max social media posts with your network via Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Set up a GiveMN fundraiser for ILCM via our Give to the Max Day landing page. You can set this up under the “Fundraiser” tab. Once you create an account, this is an easy way to keep track of how much your amazing efforts have raised!
-
Make your own Give to the Max Day gift. Big or small, every donation goes directly toward supporting our work in providing free legal representation and creating a safer, more just future for immigrants and refugees.
-
Sign up to be a volunteer! Help expand ILCM’s services by becoming a Pro Bono legal volunteer and learn more about our general volunteer/internship opportunities as well!
With your help, we can continue to create lasting change, no matter what comes next. With gratitude, Jenny Stohl Powell ILCM Executive Director |
