Celebrating National Adoption Month
|
During the month of November, we celebrate National Adoption Month — a time to honor the love shared in adoptive families and raise awareness of the importance of adoption.
In recent years, Senate Republicans have championed laws that support families who open their hearts and homes by way of adoption.
Some goals of these recent laws include helping more families afford the cost of adoption and encouraging more families to consider becoming part of Indiana's adoption system so more children find their forever homes.

Iwo Jima Memorial Unveiling in Huntington
On Veterans Day, I was honored to attend the unveiling of the new Iwo Jima Memorial in Huntington Memorial Park. The sculpture depicts the flag raising during the battle of Iwo Jima, a battle in which many lives
were lost while fighting for our country and freedom. I am grateful everyday for our veterans and thankful for their unwavering commitment to protecting this great country we get to call home. The Iwo Jima Memorial can be found on the North Side of Huntington Memorial Park, adjacent to the North Pond.
