John,

As the final votes remain to be counted, it is clear that despite running a strong campaign we will come up just short of the election results we hoped for.

While we didn’t get the result we wanted in CA-22, I'm proud of the race we ran and the issues we put forward.

I want to express my gratitude to the thousands of supporters who joined us throughout this campaign. Our campaign knocked an amazing 270,000 doors and made more than 1.4 million phone calls. I’m incredibly thankful for each person who gave their time knocking on doors, making phone calls, sending text messages, making a donation, and writing postcards. Thank you.

Despite the outcome of this race, I remain inspired by what I saw talking with individuals and families on the campaign trail, their tenacity, hopes and dreams and believing in an America that values strength in unity, protecting freedom and our constitutional rights, and believing in a more economically just society that will uplift all families.

We face a tough road ahead with this new administration, but we cannot let it deter us from fighting and protecting our democratic values. Let us remind ourselves of MLK’s great quote “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice”…if we bend it…and we need each of us to continue to persevere and fight for an America that works for all of us.

Onward,

Rudy Salas
