Yesterday, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would nominate Rep. Matt Gaetz (R - Fla.) as the next Attorney General for the United States.  

Let’s be clear: Rep. Gaetz is a dangerous threat to immigrant communities and our immigrant justice work. With a long history of Trump loyalism, and anti-immigrant zealotry, we have no doubt that he will abuse one of the highest offices in the land to prosecute immigrant youth and families and further erode our already-broken immigration system. 

As we move into a second Trump administration, and bad-faith, xenophobic actors like Gaetz are elevated into some of the highest positions in our country, our work is more important than ever — from challenging state laws that promote militarization and racial profiling, to protecting the rights of immigrant children to attend public schools and defending DACA at the Supreme Court. 

If we stand together now, we can prepare ourselves for the onslaught of attacks that are sure to come — but we need your help, friend.
