Firearm deer season is Nov. 16-24

Excitement is building for the November firearm deer season, Nov. 16-24. Before you head into the field, here are a few things to know.

Starting this fall, hunters have the option to electronically report [ [link removed] ] their November firearm deer season harvest or take their deer to a check station. 

Also, if you're looking for a place to hunt, consult the Public Access Atlas [ [link removed] ] to find over 1.2 million acres of publicly accessible land.

Lastly, safety is the most important factor to consider. Brush up on the four primary rules [ [link removed] ] of firearm safety to keep yourself and your hunting buddies safe in the field.

Begin buying 2025 Game and Parks permits Nov. 15

A new year is just around the corner — don't wait to begin buying Nebraska Game and Parks permits for 2025. 

Starting Nov. 15, the 2025 annual hunt (small game), fishing, fur harvest and state park entry permits are available online [ [link removed] ], at district offices and state park areas. These permits are valid Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2025.

Improvements are coming to Rock Creek Station State Recreation Area; in the meantime, the park's campsites are closed for the season. Improvements include upgrading all electrical campsites to 50-amp service.
