This was not a good idea. Take a look at the 2024 results in Dearborn, Michigan, a 90% Muslim area that Biden had won with 88% of the vote in 2020:
- Trump: 46.8%
- Harris: 27.68%
- Stein: 22.11%
The powers that be in the Democratic party will blame various groups - Muslims, progressives/anti-war activists, and youths - all of whose opinions and desires they had ignored. They truly thought that they could jettison essential members of our coalition and win without them. As we now know, this was not the case - we cannot win without them.
However, one good thing about Kamala and her disastrous campaign was that they were at least honest about their support for the extreme right-wing government of Israel.
There are at least 55 members of the House Progressive Caucus, Congress’s left most faction, who claim to be “Progressive” yet are funding the genocide that the UN is warning will kill every person left in North Gaza and that cost us the election.
Change starts from the bottom up. If Democrats want to start winning again we need to clean house - starting with the lowest hanging fruit: the fake progressives in the House Progressive Caucus.
As we head into the 2026 midterms we will be applying pressure to pro-Israel “progressives” in their districts. Hopefully the pressure gets them to back off from their stance and if it doesn’t we will be laying the groundwork for them to be primaried and removed from office.
