John, This election year, Montana Democrats built a grassroots-powered movement like no other. We opened dozens of offices across the state. We knocked on thousands of doors. And we reached out to a countless number of voters to spread the word about Democrats’ positive, future-focused agenda for the state. To every person who volunteered, knocked on doors, donated their hard-earned money, or made their voice heard at the ballot box on behalf of Montana Democrats: Thank you. We won’t lie: we’re disappointed by the election results. By losing Jon Tester, Montanans are losing a steadfast leader and champion for our state in the Senate. And Montanans would have been well-served by Ryan Busse, Monica Tranel, and all of our incredible statewide Democratic candidates. But we still saw some big victories in this election: Democrats gained two seats in the State Senate and nine seats in the State House — breaking the GOP’s supermajority. Montanans made it clear that they wanted to check the power of the Republican supermajority and elect more leaders who will get to work on the issues most pressing to our state — like renewing Medicaid expansion, tackling the cost of living crisis, and protecting our public lands. Because of your support, we are sending a slate of principled, committed leaders to Helena. Through their leadership, these Democrats will continue to push for common-sense solutions, defend our fundamental rights, and protect our Montana way of life. There’s a lot of hard work ahead, but we know that, with your support, we can continue the fight to build a better future for all Montanans.
Once again, thank you for everything you’ve done throughout this election year. Montana Democrats are going to continue putting in the work for all of us, and we’re immensely grateful to have you on this team. Montana Democrats |
