Dear Relatives, Friends, and Allies,

It’s been a challenging week. We hope you’ve been nourishing your heart, mind, body, and spirit and encourage you to remember during these difficult times that it’s community, kinship, and care that get us through. And, we have a strong community here at Bears Ears.

While it might seem hard to think about the future, we wanted to share this recent message we received from Co-Chair Anthony Sanchez (Zuni), to remind you that a brighter future exists and we at Bears Ears remain committed to help realize it.

Change Happens Together

The hard truth; a second Trump presidency threatens to dismantle hard-fought protections and erase the inclusion of all voices in shaping the future of this sacred landscape. In fact, the President-elect has already indicated that Bears Ears National Monument is at risk* again.

This is why, now, more than ever, we need your help. We must act swiftly to prevent further harm to this landscape and the people that rely on it. Your support will directly empower the five Tribes to push back against efforts to dismantle the monument’s boundaries and continue advocating for responsible stewardship of public lands.

Every contribution makes a difference in this critical moment. Together, we can ensure that the values of sustainability, conservation, and respect for Tribal nations are upheld, even in the face of new challenges.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Charissa Miijessepe-Wilson, Co-Director

Hillary Hoffmann, Co-Director
