Republicans announced historic and eye-popping fundraising numbers: $61.7 million raised by Trump and the RNC in April — increasing their cash-on-hand to $255 million. That’s a challenge for our campaign.

Washington Republicans are already dumping millions into North Carolina to defeat me, but with such a massive pile of cash at their disposal, I can only imagine how much more they’ll flood in next.

Just about everybody — from the press to the Koch network to the GOP establishment in Washington, and maybe even Donald Trump — will pore over our FEC fundraising report next month to see how much money we’ve raised and how strong our campaign is right now.

For too long, we’ve had corporate special interests and their allies in Washington try to buy our elections and work to divide Americans rather than bring us together around our common values.

I’ve had enough of it — and so have the people of North Carolina. That’s why our campaign is leading in the polls and why we outraised Thom Tillis by more than 2:1 last quarter.

While we may have the momentum today, we cannot afford to take our foot off the gas if we’re going to see this through to the end. It’s critical we have the resources to match Tillis’ war chest and the super PACs that will continue to attack me in the coming months.
