 
Winter Wonderland is now open!
I am happy to say that Winter Wonderland, the city’s premier Christmas attraction is now open at Old Market Square. There’s lots for festive fun-seekers to enjoy at this years event, which runs until New Year’s Eve.
You can get the best city views on the Observation Wheel and Sky Skate Ice Path, indulge in delicious food and drink at the Sur La Piste and Altitude chalet bars, chill out in the Ice Bar, and start your Christmas shopping at the market stalls.
Entry is free but some activities are ticketed. I am delighted to say we have worked with Mellors to offer Nottingham City residents a 10% discount on super off-peak and off-peak ice-skating bookings.
Super off-peak and off-peak reduced price skating tickets are available on Mondays to Thursdays outside of the school holidays. You can find the different timings available on the link below.

A plan to hold a Nottingham Climate Assembly aimed at getting local people and organisations involved in discussing how the city can reduce its carbon footprint and become more sustainable has been backed by Nottingham City Council.
The Climate Assembly is being organised by the Nottingham Green Partnership which is the co-sponsor, with the Council, of the ambition for Nottingham to become Carbon Neutral by 2028, ahead of any other city.
Nottingham Green Partnership has already held a series of small-scale climate assemblies with local community groups but now wants to widen participation in the discussion about Nottingham’s sustainable future by holding a larger Climate Assembly that would fully representative of the city’s makeup.

Bring your family and friends to Woodthorpe Park Plant Shop for a magical, fun filled Christmas
The Christmas Market is happening between the 23 November to the 15 December.
Entry to the market is free and dogs are welcome. There will be:
- Wreath Making Workshops
- Magical Father Christmas Experience
- Over 30 artisan craft stalls
- Homemade Cafe
- Children's activities
- Live performances
Plus, there will be a Twilight Christmas shopping event on Friday 6 December from 5pm to 8pm.
It’s free to visit and includes craft stalls, live entertained, wreath making workshops (additional cost) and A magical illuminated trail through the Tropical House and stories with Father Christmas (additional cost)

The Environment Agency have open their fish pass at Colwick Country Park.
It's built to give fish a way to move around a barrier, so Salmon, Trout and even Eels can move from one part of the river to the next to feed & breed.
This is the Environment Agency’s £12m flagship project and took two years to build and it is 200 metres long, 6 metres deep and 6.5 metres wide

City residents who are over 50 can get free financial, energy and employment advice this month.
There’s an event on Tuesday 26 November 2024, between 10.30 am and 3.00 pm at Nottingham Central Library.
There will be stalls from different organisations offering financial, energy and employment advice, plus advice on being more active, carer support, home and online safety advice, as well as support with long term health conditions.
There are also two presentations that day:
10.45 am to 11.40am - Improving your financial wellbeing
11.45am to 12.45pm - Avoiding Scams & Doorstep Crime and an understanding of Pension Credit & Winter Fuel Payment eligibility.
