Friend,
When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
It’s a useful lesson to live by and one that the incoming administration fully adheres to.
This week, President elect Donald Trump named former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan [[link removed]] as his “border czar.” It was also reported that longtime adviser Stephen Miller [[link removed]] will act as his deputy chief of staff for policy. Both Homan and Miller were the architects of some of Trump’s most divisive immigration policies during his first term in office, including the separation of families seeking protection at the U.S.-Mexico border.
These appointments show the Trump administration’s intent to follow through on its promises of carrying out the “largest deportation operation in American history.”
We should believe them.
So now that the gloves are off, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t show them who we are.
We’re a force who won’t stand by while these extremists launch an assault on immigrant families and communities.
We are committed to fighting for immigrant children, families and communities. We have the know-how and policy expertise to mount a strong defense, and we are confident in our values and vision.
But we need your help. Because it's time to make them believe us.
Our work depends on contributions from individuals that know that policies which promote family separations, immigration raids, closing of the Southern border to asylum seekers and refugees, travel bans, and denying citizenship to U.S. born children of immigrants are extreme and cruel.
Help us hold the line once again. Donate and let’s show them what we’re about.
