The election may be over, but our work at the statehouse continues. And at the center is the fight for Ohio's energy future.

Larry Householder, former speaker of the Ohio House, is currently serving a 20 year federal sentence for overseeing the largest bribery scandal in Ohio's history, House Bill 6.  It has been announced that he is now planning to ask Donald trump for clemency <[link removed]>.

A pardon would allow Householder to run for office again, but it would also draw renewed scrutiny of FirstEnergy’s pay-to-play relationship with Donald Trump <[link removed]> during Trump’s first term as president. House Bill 6 gutted our state’s energy efficiency and renewable energy standards, and it established a bailout of two old, dirty coal plants (one in Indiana!) that every Ohio electric customer continues to pay for on our bills.

Many of the same politicians who supported House Bill 6 years ago worked to defeat Issue 1 on this November’s ballot

Ohio’s stagnant, gerrymandered legislative districts are among some of the worst in the nation. We fought back as the Ohio Ballot Board accepted purposefully misleading ballot language designed to confuse voters and ensure that power would stay in the hands of those currently in office.





We’re not letting the corruption and deception stop us

The need for government and corporate accountability is more important than ever. Fights over access to the ballot are not over. And there’s clearly plenty of work to be done to reflect the will of Ohio voters in our elections and our energy policy.
