Inflation Stays Firm

Consumer prices edged up in October after having recorded the slowest rate of growth in 3½ years in the previous month, a sign of how inflation continues to move lower on an uneven and bumpy path, as the WSJ reports.

Blinken Visits Nato

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken visited NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday at what he called a “critical moment” for Ukraine and the U.S.-led military alliance, as the NYT reports.

Israel Prepares Lebanon Cease-Fire

A close aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Donald Trump and Jared Kushner this week that Israel is rushing to advance a cease-fire deal in Lebanon, according to three current and former Israeli officials briefed on the meeting, with the aim of delivering an early foreign policy win to the president-elect, as The Washington Post reports.
