Hi John,
For many of us, the outcome of last Tuesday’s presidential election was disheartening. As a coalition of Democrats and progressive women and nonbinary folks, we are disappointed in the result — but steadfast in our commitment to fighting for a better future for all New Mexicans. This week, we’re celebrating some of our downballot wins: we’re proud to report that over 40 Emerge alums won their races last Tuesday! Be sure to check out the full list of winners below.
From Congress and the State Legislature to the county level, dozens of Emerge alums will serve the people of New Mexico in government next year. These public servants won their races because they connected with their constituents on an inclusive vision for the future, where all voices are heard and given a seat at the table. Regardless of what happens at the national level, this is how true political power is built: from the ground up.
We’re proud to have supported Democratic women and non-binary individuals across New Mexico with our candidate training and logistical support — and we’re incredibly grateful to the grassroots donors who made that work possible. In the week since Election Day, we’ve seen a surge in community members looking to get involved in our movement for change. If you’re dissatisfied with your local political leadership, think about launching a campaign of your own! One of the most critical and straightforward ways to support our work is through your grassroots donations. Simply put, we would not be able to sustain our organizing efforts and institutional capacity without folks like you supporting our mission.
As we plant to expand our candidate recruitment and training efforts next year, we're so grateful for anything you can give to support our work.
