Dear MoveOn member,
As we look to the next four years under Donald Trump, one thing is
certain: We need Democrats in Congress to show up in full force and
unwaveringly resist Trump's attacks on our democracy.
Trump and MAGA Republicans' Project 2025 isn't a vague "concept of a
plan"—it's a literal playbook for how they plan to ruthlessly govern our
country and dismantle our democracy.
They've spelled out exactly how they want to use the first 180 days of
Trump's administration to end the independence of government agencies and
roll back progress that's been made on climate and LGBTQ+ rights, all
while further restricting abortion access and immigration reform.
[ [link removed] ]We're not waiting around until Trump takes office—we're calling on
Democrats in Congress to make a firm commitment now to resist Trump and
MAGA Republicans' extremist agenda. Will you add your name to pile on the

Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, said last week that
"the entire conservative movement stands united behind [Trump]," and
another one of Project 2025's conservative backers, America First Policy
Institute, celebrated the election results on social media, stating, "This
victory is a mandate."^1 Project 2025 is no longer a potential threat.
Trump's most extreme base wants him to know that they are expecting him to
deliver on his promise.
The country formed under Project 2025 would be unrecognizable. At least
nine of the coalition groups behind it are SPLC-designated hate and
antigovernment groups, including Alliance Defending Freedom, the Center
for Immigration Studies, and Moms for Liberty.^2 We can't allow their
hateful, backward vision for America to define the future of this country.
We will fight back against Project 2025 every day of every year—and we
need Congress to do the same.

This election has been devastating. People are scared, exhausted, and
angry. We get it. People have spent years resisting Trump and MAGA's
attempts to roll back our rights and freedoms. We have had to endure their
constant attacks against our communities and loved ones, sowing division
and stoking hate. Trump has unearthed the worst of our country, but that
is not the only truth of our country.
MAGA Republicans have gutted the Voting Rights Act. They spread
misinformation and propaganda. And they eroded the public's trust in our
political system.^3
And still. Millions of people support our progressive vision of the world.
Together, we are powerful. And we won't give up on us or the possibilities
of this country.
[ [link removed] ]This is not 2016. We know what we're facing, and we have Trump and MAGA

We still live in a democracy. But Project 2025 wants to change that.
Project 2025 will further erode abortion access, implement mass
deportations, reverse birthright citizenship, roll back LGBTQ+ rights, and
dismantle public education.^4 Disturbingly, it seeks to give Trump control
over currently independent federal agencies, like the Department of
Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.^5
But it gets worse.
There's a "fourth pillar" that the architects of Project 2025 have refused
to release that could completely overhaul the executive branch of
government.^6 We have to be prepared NOW.
Trump and MAGA Republicans want us to feel defeated. But we sit on the
shoulders of giants who have endured the worst of this country and still
fought for its promise. This is a dark chapter in U.S. history. But
together, we can make sure it's not the final chapter.
Trump and MAGA's hateful and authoritarian vision for the U.S. should be
met with the resistance it deserves, and the communities that are under
attack deserve to know that we will continue to show up and fight back
against the worst of this administration.
