Last week I spoke to 140,000 people who signed up for a post-election call about making meaning of the moment and taking necessary action. Let’s tell the truth: there is not a moment to spare. Never mind the first 100 days of a typical administration; high tide may hit within the first 100 hours. 

We know Donald J. Trump is prepared to order and immediately enforce a sweeping agenda of White supremacy, patriarchy, retribution, and the priorities of oligarchs—the super rich. We take seriously, and literally, his declared intent to conduct mass deportations, concentrate power in the executive office, and pursue perceived internal enemies. Now we have ten weeks left before the inauguration to align the largest possible coalition around effective anti-authoritarian and pro-democracy action. But this is only possible through organization and well-informed strategy. 

For more than forty years, movement leaders and people like you have turned to PRA to make strategies make sense. We have worked side by side with an inspiring range of racial, social, and economic justice movements for months on scenario planning and preparedness for the outcome we’re now facing. We understand the stakes are astonishingly higher than four or eight years ago. At PRA, we are committed to resisting this authoritarian grab. PRA doubled in size to meet our movement’s need for opposition research and strategic partnership during Trump’s first act. Today we are prepared to double-down on our mission to block authoritarianism and fascism, and build power for a new progressive cycle in U.S. and world history.

Action with others is the best antidote for despair. This work requires all of us. Every victory against oppression in the U.S. and anywhere else—abolition, civil rights, labor rights, human rights, and gender justice—came from everyday people rejecting isolation, refusing despair, and organizing to block supremacy and domination and build a more liberatory future.
