About the job
As the Capital Budget Manager, you will oversee comprehensive budget services, financial management, and oversight of capital projects and initiatives for the agency, including all DES-managed facilities and assets. This role is responsible for managing the Facility Professional Services Operating budget and providing capital budget expertise and support to DES programs, under the direction of the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. You will collaborate with the Capital Campus Planning Team to develop the agency’s capital budget requests and work closely with the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial Officer to establish practices, procedures, and goals for the DES Budget Unit within the Finance Division. Additionally, you will partner with senior leadership to define capital budget policies, processes, and strategies for the agency. As the primary delegate for the Deputy Chief Financial Officer in matters of capital budget management, you will support program managers in designing and implementing capital investments that align with business strategies, advance the agency’s goals, and contribute to more efficient government operations. The position is also responsible for ensuring that agency business leaders have the information, tools, and financial insights necessary to effectively manage capital budget functions.
