John, it's Jeanna Repass, Chair of the Kansas Democrats.
Last Tuesday, we didn't get the results we were hoping for: Donald Trump won the Presidential Election and Kansas Republicans’ supermajorities will remain intact in the State House and Senate.
But even in the wake of these devastating realities, we had victories that I won't hesitate to celebrate.
We re-elected Democratic incumbents Melanie Haas and Betty Arnold to the Kansas State Board of Education, and we sent Dr. Beryl New along with them to fight fearlessly to protect all of our students, teachers, and public schools.
We re-elected Representative Sharice Davids (with over 35,000 more votes than last cycle) to continue working in D.C. to bring a voice to Kansas families and fight for our shared values.
We recruited, trained, and supported more Democratic candidates than ever in races up and down the ballot this year to offer Kansans what they deserve—a choice for a better, brighter future with real representation.
John, this year we felt the joy and excitement for change. That is undeniable. We have spent this entire cycle working with intention—building lasting coalitions, providing resources statewide, and investing in communities that will continue the fight.
Today, I want to personally thank each and every person who stepped up this year. From candidates, to staffers and our amazing volunteers, this is a journey I am more fired up than ever to walk with you all on,
Because this journey is far from over.
We have taken some time to rest, and now it's time to get back to work sowing the seeds for success in 2026. The Kansas Democratic Party is committed to party-building, giving Democrats a voice, maintaining our organizing infrastructure, and coming back stronger than ever.
To do that, we're asking for your sustaining support. Could you become a monthly donor, of even just $3, to help us keep our party strong? >>
In strength,
Jeanna Repass
Chair of the Kansas Democratic Party
