John,
The voters have made their decision and we must respect it. I will not be the next Representative for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District.
While we came up short, I couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve put in.
From donors to volunteers to staff to my family, we’ve all made sacrifices to be a part of this campaign, and I want to thank you. I am deeply grateful for all of the time and effort everyone has contributed.
In 2016, I first ran for the State Legislature because I saw our flailing public education system and wanted to make a change. I wanted to serve my community. That’s the same reason I ran for the State Senate four years later and then for Congress.
Together, our campaign has done exactly that. We fought to lower housing, energy, and grocery costs, defend our fundamental freedoms, secure the border, and protect our water future.
It has been an honor to be the Democratic nominee for Congress and, while I won’t be serving CD6 in Congress, my work to make life better for Arizonans will continue.
Thank you for being part of Team Engel.
Onwards,
Kirsten
