CONNECTICUT UNIVERSITIES TRYING TO FIND

"CREATIVE WAYS" TO USE TAXPAYER MONEY TO PAY UNDOCUMENTED STUDENTS

MIDDLETOWN — Connecticut universities are attempting to find

ndocumented-students-paid-jobs/ “creative ways” to get undocumented
students “paid jobs”. These “creative ways” must include the ability to
pay the undocumented students without a need for a social security
number, or other ways that don’t mention employment or tax status.

“While students from other countries are always welcome to study at our
great universities, particularly those in Connecticut, it seems
counterintuitive to have students who do not have any type of
documentation to be in the United States, let alone a simple student
visa that would, not only allow them to study in the United States, but
also to hold on campus employment during their first year, and off
campus employment in subsequent years” said Republican State Chairman
Ben Proto.

“The continued use of taxpayer money to circumvent the law, is
antithetical to what the government should be doing. Democrats in the
legislature talk about getting rid of the fiscal guardrails so they can
have more money to spend on their special programs, yet they continue to
spend money on programs that don’t benefit the taxpayers, and then look
the other way when the state tries to find ways around the law to pay
people who, (1) are not in the country, or Connecticut legally, and (2)
if they can get paid, would not be paying taxes on the money they earn.”

“We are coming off an election where the people of Connecticut, as well
as America, said they can no longer afford the ever rising cost of
living. Energy, grocery, insurance, rent, mortgage costs are all
increasing while we pay more and more in taxes. The Democrats and their
cohorts are utterly tone-deaf as to the struggles of Connecticut
taxpayers, and now their minions are looking for ways to make it even
more expensive to be in Connecticut” continued Proto.

“Rather than find these so called “creative ways” to get around the
laws, how about working within the law to ensure that all students
attending Connecticut universities have proper documentation and, when
they earn wages, they pay taxes like everyone else in Connecticut”
concluded Proto.
