Hi John,
You’re going to stop politicians from taking a pension they don’t deserve.
The Trudeau government wants to delay the next scheduled election by one week. That would give dozens of politicians a taxpayer-funded pension they don’t deserve. Those pensions would cost taxpayers up to $120 million.
Politicians hoped you wouldn’t notice. But you did. And because you’re pushing back, they’re starting to back down.
Now that pressure is working and every opposition party is against the government delaying the next election to give dozens of extra politicians a pension.
Even Liberal MPs are starting to speak out against their own government.
At a parliamentary committee, Liberal MP Sherry Romanado said she would oppose delaying the next election.
The parliamentary committee is reviewing the government’s election bill right now.
Democratic Institutions Minister Dominic LeBlanc just told the committee he will “happily respect the will of this committee.”
That means if you act now, you can make sure the government doesn’t delay the election to give more politicians a pension they don’t deserve.
This is your chance to tell MPs on the committee you’re against delaying the election to give more politicians a pension they don’t deserve. And when you click the automatic link below, a pre-addressed email will pop up. It will also BCC us, because it helps to know what people are telling politicians.
Will you email committee MPs and tell them to stop the government from delaying the election to give more politicians a pension?
