But first...
At Full Fact, we're mostly known to you for our fact checking work. However, we also provide training to help individuals and organisations develop skills in fact checking and mastering data accuracy.
Our training covers fact checking techniques, verification of sources, and critical thinking. Our data courses allow individuals to work with different datasets, be able to clean data, extract information and confidently present their findings.
These can be put to use in the real world to identify inaccuracies, challenge bad information, and build confidence.
|
|
This training will be useful for readers who are analysts, policymakers, or someone who communicates information to the public. Full Fact Training provides practical tools to enhance your skills, providing you with the confidence that you’re sharing good information. It’s important at a time when it can be hard for the public to trust what they are seeing and hearing.
To find out more about our courses and take the next step in strengthening your skills, please don’t hesitate to contact my colleague Maurice Koppel in the training team via email: [email protected].

A number of Facebook users have shared an image of a widely debunked claim that president-elect Donald Trump told People magazine in 1998 that Republicans are “the dumbest group of voters”.
This quote is fabricated. People magazine has previously confirmed that it has no record of publishing any such interview or exchange with Mr Trump.

An image being shared on social media claims Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said people should “learn Arabic” in order to “create harmony”, but there’s no evidence he ever said this.
We cannot find any evidence that Mr Khan ever actually said this, and his office says the claim is “nonsense”.

An article in the Independent on Remembrance Day said: “During World War 1, parts of the UK’s countryside were destroyed amid bombing and fighting. But bright red poppies flourished in the muddy fields and inspired a poem by Canadian doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.”
This is correct, according to the Royal British Legion, except of course the poem is not about fighting in the UK countryside, but in Flanders, which is part of Belgium. (Others made this point on social media.)
