Dear John,
This election, Coloradans have shown their support for our vision of a more inclusive state by electing 18 of our endorsed candidates to office and rejecting hateful rhetoric and Trump’s plan for mass deportations. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our canvass team, who knocked on over 25,391doors and held 6,232 meaningful conversations, as well as sent 10,7928 texts, our voter engagement program has fortified immigrant rights statewide, even in a challenging national landscape.
CIRC Action Fund remains steadfast in the fight to protect and uplift immigrant communities across Colorado despite a federal administration openly hostile to immigrant rights, using them as scapegoats rather than addressing systemic issues. While the national landscape spells an uncertain and fearful future for our immigrant community, the results in Colorado give us hope.
Moving forward, Colorado is poised to be a critical firewall from federal overreach with our robust laws and protections for immigrant families and reproductive rights - and a clear mandate from our voters to protect those rights. Our endorsed candidates will now lead efforts in the legislature to improve the lives of all Coloradans including expanding healthcare access, safeguarding essential protections, and advancing policies to improve the lives of immigrants and working-class communities across Colorado.
This year’s victories demonstrate the power of grassroots engagement. Together, we’re reshaping Colorado’s landscape to ensure a future where every resident is treated with dignity and respect.
