Friend -- the majority-conservative Wisconsin Supreme Court (yes, the same court that forced people to vote in person during a public health emergency) has struck down Democratic Governor Tony Evers' stay-at-home order.
Once again, Wisconsin's gerrymandered legislature convinced the state Supreme Court to put partisan interests over people's lives. As Gov. Evers (who this community helped elect) put it, "Republican legislators convinced four members of the Supreme Court to throw the state into chaos... They've set us back in our health and in our economy."
Friend, this is exactly why down-ballot elections are so important. We need state-level officials who will put the public interest first -- and the NDRC is working to elect them! We're targeting Wisconsin and eight other states in the 2020 election. Will you chip in to elect fair-minded, science-minded Democrats in all our target states?

Once again, Republicans and conservatives are stomping on the people's will. Polling shows that 69% of Wisconsin voters still favor restrictions on public gatherings. And 53% said they trusted the governor more than the legislature to decide when to re-open. But gerrymandered legislative majorities don't care. They'd rather listen to Donald Trump and the extreme voices of their party than doctors and scientists.
It's appalling -- but we can do something about it by replacing them with Democrats this November. Pitch in now to help us kick out dangerous Republicans like these and make the system fair so our leaders put the people first!
