Team,
Despite Donald Trump's victory, Americans came out to show strong support for abortion rights, approving amendments in seven states to enshrine those rights into their state constitutions.
Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022 and took away the federal constitutional right to abortion, voters in 14 states have come out in favor of abortion rights.
The terrible harms of abortion bans have become clearer by the day—and they've helped to galvanize Americans to come out and demand their reproductive freedom. This year, voters in seven states passed ballot measures to protect and expand access to abortion in Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, and New York.
Our team is clear when we say: the Center for Reproductive Rights will vigorously oppose any attempts to roll back progress. Your support is paramount as we continue this fight forward.
In your state, across the country, and around the world, abortion and bodily autonomy should be recognized as basic human rights. We will take on this fight at every possible turn and we will NEVER give up.
Are you with us?
Onward,
Elisabeth Smith
Director, State Policy & Advocacy
