Hi John,

With Election Day officially a week ago, I want to reflect on what the results mean for our nation.

We cannot underscore the victories we secured here in North Carolina. I am re-entering the House with 3 Democrats by my side — Don Davis of NC-01, Deborah Ross of NC-02, and Alma Adams of NC-12.

We are also ushering in Democratic Governor Josh Stein, Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt, Attorney General Jeff Jackson, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, and Superintendent of Public Instruction Mo Green.

Despite our efforts, we did not bear witness to the first Black woman President of the United States. With short notice, Kamala Harris handled this whirlwind of a race with the utmost grace and composure — giving it her all. We are grateful for her efforts to fight for our freedoms and build a better future for all.

Now, we must continue this fight, John. I have never backed down, and never will. I remain committed to defending our democracy, fighting for our freedoms, and uplifting the common good. If you’re not done fighting either, will you make a donation of $5 or any amount today?

DONATE NOW

Thank you,

Valerie
