Hi John,

I just wanted to check in and share an update with all of you.

I know the past few weeks have been really challenging, but the acts of kindness from our neighbors and the bravery of our essential workers represents the very best of who we are as Americans.

Every day has been filled with conversations with families, medical professionals, hardworking Pennsylvanians, and small business owners throughout southeast Pennsylvania. We discuss their immediate and long term needs -- and how, in my congressional duties, I can advocate better for them.

For instance, I recently joined Rep. Joe Neguse and several of our colleagues in requesting that VP Mike Pence and the CDC Director make testing available to our first responders. Our firefighters, police officers, and first responders have been on the frontlines of this pandemic, helping the public in need of assistance -- and putting their own health at risk.

It is imperative that we ensure those on the frontline of this pandemic have access to testing so they can continue their vital work with the reassurance that they are not inadvertently spreading the virus in their communities.

Each and every day, I am so grateful for the conversations that I have with members of our community -- and I want to share the same message with all of you that I share with them. Remember to be good to one another and to yourselves. Check in on those you love and make sure they are taking care of themselves, too.

Stay safe and healthy.

More soon,
Mary Gay
