I wanted to follow up on the email we sent yesterday about our new fundraising goal.

When Pete hits the road, he talks about the urgent need to take on our biggest challenges and shows why we need a new approach to finally tackle them. This week in Iowa, he’s been sharing his plans to transform rural America -- both by increasing access to health care and making our economy work for more people.

Excitement shows up in the crowds we’re building, in requests to volunteer, and through the support coming in from across the country.

We are running a campaign that is innovative and different, and we need to be able to sustain everything into the fall -- so we set a goal of 5,000 donors in DC by midnight tonight. We’re building an operation to compete, and you make it possible when you give.

We need to make sure that we’ve got a strong campaign team in place to harness the excitement from our supporters as we build out critical infrastructure in the early caucus and primary states.

Hitting this goal tonight will allow us to continue to make smart decisions to build support in the weeks and months ahead as we work to win the nomination.

We can’t thank you enough. We’re grateful for your support, and I can tell you that Pete feels the same.
