Tell McDonald's to give all workers paid leave protections.

Friend –

We've received countless worker stories since the onset of our McDonald's campaign.

They are stories about making impossible choices during a global pandemic – of having to go to work sick, or when family is sick, or staying home and potentially losing a job. Hundreds of thousands of McDonald's workers face this every day – the majority of whom are women and people of color – and it's all because they have no paid sick or family leave.

These workers are why we're in this fight. Many companies like McDonald's are ignoring worker calls for more protections right now, and employees deserve real answers.

So here's our plan: McDonald's next major shareholder meeting takes place on May 21st. That gives us one week to keep our momentum up and push this fast-food giant to do what's right. We must make sure our calls for change are as strong as possible. Our goal is 50,000 petition signers by next week's meeting – will you help us reach it in time? Add your name today and demand McDonald's give its workers paid leave protections. <[link removed]>

McDonald's must make a choice: Mandate a policy that ensures paid sick and family leave to ALL workers or ignore this crisis and continue to put the health of workers, customers, and our communities at risk.

In the week ahead, the ACLU, along with the Fight for $15 and SEIU, will continue to virtually mobilize our community to get that point across loud and clear.

We've already shut down the voicemail inbox of the company's General Counsel, and we'll be flooding more lines with our calls soon. Moreover, virtual actions begin next week to show mass solidarity with McDonald's workers.

But we need to know you're with us, too. For every worker being exploited by their employer in this pandemic – please sign our petition and help us reach 50,000 names to hold McDonald's accountable. <[link removed]>
