It's COPD Awareness
Month – Donate Now.
John had long struggled with shortness of breath and lack
of energy — symptoms he initially dismissed as normal
signs of aging. He was later diagnosed with COPD,
and his journey living with lung disease began.
John is one of approximately 11 million people in
America living with COPD. Despite being preventable
and treatable, it is one of the leading causes
of death in the United States. But this COPD Awareness
Month, you have an opportunity to help change that —
with DOUBLE the lifesaving impact.
Our friends at Pulmonx, the maker of Zephyr Valves,
are joining us in honoring COPD Awareness Month by
MATCHING donations, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000.

Despite his diagnosis, John was not initially provided
with any assistance or resources, forcing him to navigate
the many challenges of living with a chronic lung disease
alone. His symptoms worsened to the point that,
in 2011, he had to leave the workforce.
Then John found the Lung Association’s Better Breathers Club, where he was connected to resources to help him find care and manage his symptoms. Now, when
he’s not advocating for lung health research,
he spends his time enjoying life with every breath.

John's advice to others living with COPD:
"This isn't the end of anything,
but simply a new chapter."
You Can Make A Difference
Despite being treatable and preventable, COPD claims
a life every 3.7 minutes. This COPD Awareness Month,
your MATCHED gift can help more people like John
find comfort and breathe easier.
