Dear John,
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that means the giving season is officially here! More than just Giving Tuesday, the last two months of the year is when charitable giving is at its highest—a whopping 30 percent of all annual giving happens in December alone.1
That’s why this giving season we are doing something a little different. We are expanding our annual match to the entire giving season! From now through December 31, all gifts made to IPA through our online platform will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 thanks to the generosity of an anonymous IPA supporter.
That means that from now until the end of the year, you have a chance to double your impact with a gift to IPA.
As you know, we like to follow the evidence, and the evidence shows that match campaigns really work.2
Matches have been shown to positively influence contributions, yielding more donors and more dollars than fundraising campaigns without a match. IPA founder Dean Karlan and University of Chicago Professor John List conducted a study in 2007 that suggests a match offer increased both the revenue per solicitation and the response rate—attracting 23 percent more donors and increasing total dollar contributions by 18 percent compared to a campaign without a match.
Additionally, 84 percent of people say they are more likely to give if a match is offered.3
Help us test these findings and double your impact by making a gift now.
All contributions will go toward IPA’s work to build a world with more evidence and less poverty.
Please join us in our work to improve the lives of people living in poverty.
In gratitude,
Annie
