** Chair's Corner
------------------------------------------------------------
Aloha Fellow Republicans,
One week ago, Americans across the nation united in support of the re-election of President Donald J. Trump, a monumental step toward restoring our values and aspirations for a stronger America. Here in Hawaii, we are filled with excitement and renewed optimism for what lies ahead. This election season, we witnessed remarkable dedication from our members in every county, who volunteered tirelessly to support our candidates and rally for President Trump. It has been inspiring to see grassroots groups organizing rallies, convoys, and gatherings statewide, where Republicans and fellow Hawaiians waved flags and lifted their voices to send a powerful message: it’s time for change.
We are encouraged by the participation of private citizens, grassroots organizations, families, churches, and communities across Hawaii, all of whom rallied to show their support. These efforts represent the heartbeat of our party, and together, we are sending a message of unity and resolve that we are ready for a brighter future under President Trump’s leadership.
With the election of 11 Republicans in Hawaii—the most in nearly two decades—we celebrate our “Star Republican Team”:
* State Senator, District 23 – Brenton Awa-Re elected
* State Senator, District 20 – Kurt Favella-Still in term
* State Representative, District 45 – Chris Muraoka-Newly Elected
* State Representative, District 32 – Garner Shimizu-Newly Elected
* State Representative, District 38 – Lauren Cheape Matsumoto-Re elected
* State Representative, District 39 – Elijah Pierick-Re-Elected
* State Representative, District 40 – Julie Reyes Oda-Newly Elected
* State Representative, District 41 – David A. Alcos III-Re-Elected
* State Representative, District 42 – Diamond Garcia-Re-Elected
* State Representative, District 18 – Gene Ward-Re-Elected
* State Representative, District 43 – Kanani Souza-Re-Elected
Together, these representatives are ready to uphold the values of faith, family, and freedom. We look forward to seeing their impact in our state legislature and leading by example, as they work to bring back the Aloha Spirit and Make Hawaii Great Again.
As we celebrate our victories, we are especially excited to see Hawaii’s own Tulsi Gabbard joining the President’s staff, bringing our state the attention and support it deserves. We know she will advocate for Hawaii’s unique needs, including critical reforms in areas such as:
* Relief from the Jones Act to improve our local economy
* Incentives for Hawaii families affected by displacement
* The rebuilding of Maui
* Stricter regulations on foreign ownership of American land
* Support for farmers and ranchers to strengthen our local food supply and sustainability
* Investments in our schools to ensure our children learn essential skills like reading, writing, arithmetic, civics, and life skills
Hawaii holds a strategic position in terms of logistics and military presence, making us a valued part of our nation’s defense and economic strength. With President Trump’s support, we are confident we can create a Hawaii that embodies the values of faith, family, and freedom.
This past year has been a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unity of our members and volunteers, and with our strengthened Republican presence, we are on the right path. While there is still much work to be done, we know this is only the beginning. Let us celebrate our victories, congratulate our winners, and honor each other for the incredible dedication shown. May this moment inspire us all to keep pushing forward, to fight, fight, fight for the Hawaii we believe in.
Mahalo for your unwavering commitment, your passion, and your belief in our shared vision. Together, we will Make Hawaii Great Again.
With aloha and determination,
Tamara McKay
