So many of the animals we care for have survived cruelty, neglect or disaster – facing unspeakable sadness, not knowing when their next meal will be and wondering if relief will ever come.

For animals like these, a meal after rescue may be the first meal they’ve had in a long time. It can be their first step to healing – a special moment when they feel loved and cared for. And in my work at the ASPCA Cruelty Recovery Center (CRC), I see firsthand that every meal truly counts for hungry animals.
