During these unprecedented times within our nation, Dignity and Power Now has sought ways to respond and offer support to the communities we serve. At Dignity and Power Now, we have cultivated ways to better help our staff and surrounding communities.

One initiative is DPN's Emergency Relief Fund ([link removed]) that seeks to provide community members with essential needs such as diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, bassinets, baby blankets, pantry items, and cleaning supplies. To date, Dignity and Power Now has helped over 6,000 community members with essential needs in California.

The second initiative is the DPN Emergency Action Plan ([link removed]) , set in place to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and health of our staff members and their families. According to research ([link removed]) , people within the U.S. are working three additional hours per day.

A major component of the action plan is our self-care policy which:

* Extends an allowance of $300 for self-care amount per month for all team members to engage in self-care initiatives.
* Encourages members of our staff to monitor their workloads and disconnect, when needed.
* Encourages team members caring for children or loved ones to adjust their schedules to allow for a healthy life - work balance.
* DPN is offering an extensive Somatic training to staff and 10 community members for May.
* Staff are encouraged to take time off as needed - it will not be deducted from sick or paid time off leave.
