1) Green Energy Has Decimated Europe

Our chart of the day from Macro Strategy Partnership explains why Europe is a mess. Europe has gone so far green that they have "traded growth for ideology."

Europe paid 166.3% more for its primary energy mix last year than had it used conventional energy sources. It paid 2.23 percentage points more of GDP - (5.6% rather 3.37%) - on primary energy than had its fuel mix not included renewables, which largely explains why European GDP growth has been minimal. As renewable electricity grows as a percentage of the mix, its high cost has reduced energy consumption. Since peaking in 2006, primary energy consumption across the European Union has fallen by a massive 17.47%. Renewable energy has risen to 16.6% of the primary energy mix, but in doing so, with renewable electricity price 5 times that of conventional electricity, it has reduced by a similar amount the overall energy the economy has been able to afford. Whilst GDP has held up, the economy has reshaped dramatically, with for example French and German industrial production down around 14% from their respective highs, and Italian down 25%

The good news: Trump will dismantle this green energy madness here in the USA. Drill baby drill!

2) The FEMA Scandal Fully Exposed

The outgoing Biden administration now admits that Trump was right when he complained that his supporters were being denied hurricane relief based on politics:

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced Saturday that supervisor Marn'i Washington had been fired after she ordered federal employees under her supervision to"avoid homes advertising Trump" as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, according to messages shared with The Daily Wire by whistleblowers. These instructions were given both verbally and in writing, multiple government employees revealed.

"More than 22,000 FEMA employees every day adhere to FEMA's core values and are dedicated to helping people before, during and after disasters, often sacrificing time with their own families to help disaster survivors. Recently, one FEMA employee departed from these values to advise her survivor assistance team to not go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Trump," Criswell said in a statement. "This is a clear violation of FEMA's core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. This was reprehensible."

This shameful episode only came to light because a whistleblower sent this image of an internal FEMA communication to the conservative website The Daily Wire:

But that's only half the scandal here. The media excoriated Trump for his claims about politics interfering with who got aid after the hurricanes bashed Florida and North Carolina coasts.

At issue was Trump's social media post. He accurately spotlighted the scandal: "don't like the reports that I'm getting about the federal government and the Democrat governor of the State [Cooper of NC], going out of their way to not help people in Republican areas."

A few days later, "fact checkers" at The New York Times declared Trump's claim "lacks evidence." To their credit, a few weeks later they admitted their mistake.

3) Puerto Rican Voters Thought Biden's Economy Was "Garbage"

The Left was convinced that the Trump campaign's efforts to win over Hispanic voters were crippled after the comedian at Trump's Madison Square Garden rally before Election Day stupidly referred to Puerto Rico as a "floating island of garbage."

But in the end, Kamala Harris only won the Hispanic vote by 53% to 45%, according to CNN and NBC exit polls. That was a huge drop from the 66% of Hispanics that President Biden won in 2020. He easily won Miami-Dade County, Florida, which has 69% Hispanic voters – only half of whom are Cubans.

As for Puerto Ricans, Osceola County, Florida has the largest Puerto Rican population by percentage of any county in the country – 26.7%. But Trump carried the county.  He also won Cumberland County, New Jersey, which has the fourth-highest percentage of Puerto Ricans at 17.9%.

"There was an unambiguous massive swing with all Hispanic voters, including Puerto Ricans," admits Matt Isbell, a Democratic political consultant.

4) Hooray! Suddenly Blue State Governors Are for Federalism

We have argued for months that regardless of the outcome of the election, the only way we can "all get along" as a country given our ideological divisions is by devolving power out of Washington and back to the states and letting them decide policy. Education, environment, climate change, labor issues, abortion, tax levels, and welfare benefits, should all be policies left to the 50 states.

Now look who's all for that: Democratic governors. You may have seen that governors JB Pritzker of Illinois, Gavin Newsom of California, Murphy of New Jersey, and Hochul of New York are organizing resistance campaigns against Trump policies. The problem is they want to have power over one of the few powers that does legitimately rest with the federal government – which is immigration policy. States can't make up their own policies of who to let into the country.

But on other issues, if states want to opt out of federal directives, great. There are way, way too many federal laws.

We hope Trump lets blue states and blue state voters do their own thing – even if it means driving their states into the ground – as they've been doing for the last two decades. Americans can then vote with their feet to escape blue-state tyranny. Millions of Americans are doing that every year.
