Our obligation to advocate for justice is more important than ever

Salam, Supporter,

This week we will commemorate the Nakba, the greatest catastrophe that has ever befallen the Palestinian people. It has been more than seven decades since the State of Israel began its institutionalized theft of Palestinian land and its attempted erasure of Palestine and its people. This oppression is not only an historical event; it is an ongoing reality.

At AMP, our mission is guided by the message of the following verse:

(25:لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَنزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ النَّاسُ بِالْقِسْطِ (الحديد

"We have already sent Our messengers with clear signs and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance (of Right and Wrong) that the people may stand forth in justice." (57:25)

As we enter the last ten nights of Ramadan, we ask that you redouble your support for our work to advance justice in Palestine.

The truth needs a voice to speak for it. Justice needs advocates to serve it. The message needs a messenger to communicate it. The last ten blessed nights of Ramadan remind us of this obligation. The message of Allah that was revealed on these nights had an advocate and a carrier, which was our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

As an organization, we treat this responsibility with the utmost regard. For over a decade, American Muslims for Palestine has been committed to positively transforming the issue of Palestine in the United States.

Despite the enormous challenges we face in our Palestine advocacy in the U.S.-from the Israel lobby, to faith washing campaigns, and unconstitutional bills suppressing Palestine activism-we know that our cause is just, blessed, and a duty for all people of conscience.

We are dedicated, more than ever, to ensuring that the work for Palestine continues. As a community, we must be involved in this growing movement. By supporting our work, you are making that happen.

As the month of Ramadan embodies hope for humanity, AMP's work for Palestine represents hope for our blessed cause. As we enter the final holy nights of Ramadan, help support the fight for justice in Palestine.

Thank you for your continued support and for standing up for justice in Palestine. The Covid-19 pandemic represents a massive challenge for to our work and mission.

However, with the blessing of the Almighty and you standing by us, we will overcome. May Allah accept your worship, charity, and may He make you among the forgiven and accepted in these blessed nights.

Sincerely,

Dr. Hatem Bazian, Chair
