Canvass for Prop 1A!

Sunday, Nov 17th, 10:30am-1pm

Southside Commons (3518 S Edmunds St.)

RSVP

We’ll be doorknocking social housing supporters to educate voters about funding social housing.

Door knocking is the best way to reach voters about an issue, and you will be knocking doors alongside folks who have talked to hundreds – some even thousands – of voters.

Canvassing will usually last for a couple hours after a short training session at the beginning about best door knocking practices. The only thing you need to bring is a mobile phone and why you want to have social housing for your Seattle neighbors.

What is Proposition 1A (formerly I-137)? Read more about the initiative.

Seattle DSA Hurricane Relief Fundraiser

This Saturday, Nov 16th, 5pm-8pm

RSVP

In response to the devastation inflicted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, DSA Chapters have been mobilizing to deliver critical aid to impacted communities, help with relief efforts, and demand eviction moratoriums. While the capitalist class profits from the exploitation of workers and the earth alike, socialists are out on the front lines of the climate crisis responding to people's needs and fighting for a better world. Solidarity, not charity!

Seattle DSA is hosting a public fundraiser event the evening of Nov. 16 at Southside Commons for hurricane disaster relief across the Southeast, including efforts led by our sister chapters in North Carolina and Florida. Invite your neighbors, friends, and coworkers!

Admission is pay what you can at the door, and gift basket raffle tickets are $5. Want to contribute your culinary talents for the cause? Bring something for the potluck! Have any fall decor you'd like to volunteer for the event? Let us know and come help liven up the space the day of!

Looking for a way to involve your friends or coworkers who are unable to attend? Organize a gift basket donation among them! Here are some polite suggestions:

  • Give the basket a theme
  • New, second-hand, and home crafted items are all welcome
  • Gift cards, technology, and lefty swag make for good items
  • Avoid items with common allergens as well as alcoholic and easily perishable
