Who should decide what medical treatment you receive? The answer is obvious: doctors and their patients. 

But some corporate insurance companies are getting in the way of patients’ treatment plans by delaying and denying care —  including patients going through a mental health crisis. In a recent ProPublica article, a health consultant was quoted talking about patients who needed mental healthcare. 
    
“The way to look at mental health care from an insurance perspective is: I don’t want to attract those people. I am never going to make money on them.”
