George Whitesides has taken the lead in CA-27 . This is a MUST-WIN seat for Democrats to have any chance of retaking the U.S. House.

But our work to flip key races in California and take back the U.S. House is ongoing.
We won’t sugarcoat it. It’s a climb to get there. But George Whitesides was previously trailing in CA-27 against his GOP opponent, and now he is leading .
We have to keep up the momentum. Our Organizing Teams and Voter Protection Teams are working around the clock to ensure every eligible vote is counted in the critical districts. We are contacting voters who need to fix (aka “cure”) their ballots and answering any questions about that process.
As the votes come in, Democrats still have a path to take back the U.S. House. But that path fully runs through California and our work in the coming hours and days.
