I spent yesterday in community, at a food pantry in Everett, Massachusetts helping to hand out food and supplies to folx in need. Here are a few photos from the day:
Everett is one of the communities in Massachusetts that has been hit the hardest by this pandemic. Recent data shows that more than 1,000 people in the city have tested positive for COVID-19 — among the highest per-capita infection rates in the state.
The Everett Community Care Fund — created in partnership with the United Way — is mobilizing resources to folx in the community who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of this crisis. They are also raising funds to help people make rent payments, purchase groceries, and more.
In these difficult and challenging times, I draw strength and inspiration from our community. Day in and day out you are showing up to support our neighbors, modeling generosity and compassion. What I saw in Everett yesterday was no exception.
