Dear Friend,

As one who served my country in uniform during the Vietnam War, I can tell you that the fight for freedom doesn’t just take place on foreign battlefields.

Indeed, the most critical battles for freedom today are taking place right here in the United States.

Free speech, the right to protest, the right to challenge government wrongdoing, due process, a presumption of innocence, the right to self-defense, accountability and transparency in government, privacy, press, sovereignty, assembly, bodily integrity, representative government: all of these and more have become casualties in the government’s ongoing war on the American people.

In light of the government’s tendency to exploit crises (legitimate or manufactured) and capitalize on the nation’s heightened emotions, confusion and fear as a means of extending the reach of the police state, there’s every reason to worry about what comes next.

The Biden administration used its so-called war on disinformation to censor free speech and undermine the First Amendment.

The incoming Trump administration is making no secret of its plans to use its so-called war on immigration in order to sidestep the nation’s constitutional system of checks and balances and operate beyond the reach of the rule of law.

HELP US MAKE THE GOVERNMENT PLAY BY THE RULES OF THE CONSTITUTION: SUPPORT THE RUTHERFORD INSTITUTE

In other words, despite the outcome of this year’s presidential election, the Deep State is continuing to call the shots.

Politics will never fix what’s wrong with this country. That’s why The Rutherford Institute remains nonpartisan, apolitical, and committed to the principles enshrined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

We’re working hard to push back against the government’s heavy-handed tyranny on almost every front: pushing back against threats to our freedoms, sounding the alarm whenever the government abuses its authority, and working hard to defeat the government’s ongoing attempts to nullify the constitutional freedoms assured to every American.

Still, we can’t do any of this without you, especially if are to meet this year’s $250,000 matching gift challenge.

Please take a moment to make a tax-deductible donation to The Rutherford Institute to sustain the vital legal and educational programs that enable us to push back against the government’s power grabs, corruption, immorality and ongoing assaults on the Constitution.

Together, we WILL make America free again.

For freedom,

John W. Whitehead
President
